Forme di Luce Palazzo Reale September 24, 2025 – January 11, 2026 Milan
Who was Man Ray? Exhibition curators Pierre-Yves Butzbach and Robert Rocca assert that there is no definitive answer to this question.
We met them at the opening of the exhibition "Man Ray. Forme di luce" (Man Ray. Forms of Light), on display at the Palazzo Reale in Milan until January 11, 2026. Organized by the City of Milan, the Palazzo Reale, and Silvana Editoriale, this exhibition celebrates one of the most influential figures in 20th-century art.
Photographer, filmmaker, and experimenter, Man Ray combined irony, elegance, and provocation in images whose modernity still surprises today. The catalog "Man Ray. "Formes di luce," published by Silvana Editoriale, accompanies the exhibition with essays and numerous illustrations that explore the central themes of his research and the creative freedom that permeates his entire oeuvre. We discussed these topics with the exhibition curators in an interview conducted in conjunction with the exhibition.
